TABB - The Difference
Project management systems are either time or resource based and this requires you to manage the project daily by entering in an estimated time for completion and then an estimated start time and then link tasks to each other to create milestones and determine the critical path, however, in reality projects do not work like that, they are dynamic and resources become unavailable due to the critical nature of the demands of the business or other projects.
All of this causes the project management system to fail and then the project manager tries to fool the software package but then the links break in the critical path and then everyone stops using the project management system and they revert back to emails and more meetings to try to solve their management problems.
TABB is here to the rescue, Nicholas Hughes a 25year project management veteran understands the demands to a project manager and its team and that if the project manager becomes a slave to the sytem rather than the system assisting the project manager it is a recipe for project and management failure
The TABB difference is simple, it manages projects by “Job”, and “Jobs” are assigned to people and no matter how many jobs are assigned to a department like “design” only 1 can be given a top level priority, this means that the “project manager” manages the project and not the system. Communication for each TABB is saved in an Instant Messenger conversation format which eliminates the need for emailing and saving emails. And files can be attached to a TABB so all involved in a TABB have access to each file, this eliminates the need of sending files over the INTERNET via email or using an internal server. Also, each user may manage their own tasks with MYTABB which alone is a powerful task management tool. There are several other features like scheduling, time keeping and open conversations between any team members.
